WASHINGTON (Reuters) – International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde said on Saturday accountability, transparency and effective communication had been key scheme for central banks to be credible in handing over their mandates.

“Independence has served them properly within the route of time and would possibly well well proceed to end so,” Lagarde said at a news convention when asked whether or now now not some central banks had been facing threats to their independence in setting monetary coverage.
